Mary, Mary, Mary

How popular the name Mary was? The evidence, probably her name in itself, from the name of schools, baby names and I guess your name is Mary also. Here in the Philippines we have lots of Mary here, Mary Rose, Mary Grace, Mary Joy, Mary Abegail, Maria Paula, Maria and Mary can also be. Some schools with Mary are Immaculate Heart of Mary School, Children of Mary School, Saint Mary of the Woods School and lots of Catholic schools probably have their Mary name. It makes also be more popular because it’s our Mother Mary the mother of Jesus Christ. She is a good woman and her virginity makes us amaze how she fights for temptation. Imagine she doesn’t have husband and no boy has touch her and unchaste with her but she carry a holy boy in her womb. She deserves to be chosen by our Lord to become the mother of blessed child because she spends her life righteous and pure. That’s why she made saints by Roman Catholic.

Her attitude and being pure challenge me to do same thing that’s why she called Virgin Mary. Especially the Filipina nowadays no one will truly call Mary by their character just only by name. The generation today really captivates my attention because they become worst. Woman were liberated and easily caught through lots of temptation. At early age they get pregnant and hooked on vices mostly like alcoholic drinks. They are not infect the attributes of Mary which is the lost of us Filipino who formally known Filipina as a conservative woman before. Only few were still in a conservative type but more and I am much concern to our kids today who is liberated. I hope their parents are still concern with their kids or maybe they are the one who push to be like.

So where is Mary now from us Filipino? Is Mary is in our heart, in a heart of a Filipina? If so why they don’t practice the same thing like Mary does. She is the good examples of a better woman, more worth than Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, and other known fairytale characters. When we are a child every night were excited for bed time stories, our mom always read a book for us and always a story of a prince charming who in love in a simple girl, its always a love story which I remember. Why not try to introduce Mary in our kids. It’s also a love story probably a perfect one because it’s a mother and child relationships and their love for each other. During bed time tell them a story about our Mother Mary. The experiences of Mary before and during she gave birth to Jesus Christ. Tell them the sufferings and joy that Mary experience when she raised her holy child. I think by that story we can influence our young today to simulate the character of Mary at least start it when they still a kid. Serve our next generation so that we can produce more like of Mama Mary not just by name but with character as well.
